<p><strong><em>Description originale</em></strong></p>
<p><em>Brief is to design the packaging for a new line of organic loose teas (not a live project, tea company is Ringtons tea). Things to consider were: to have packaging eco friendly, to communicate the feel of it being exclusive, limited loose tea; try to appeal to young professionals. Solution is incorporating die-cut technique, which brings both: exclusiveness and it is saving on ink, while paper used for the outer layer is made of recycling materials.</em></p>

<p><strong><em>Description originale</em></strong></p>
<p><em>As part of a larger branding project, I handmade a burlap coffee bag, carryout box and sugar packets for a very posh café that I named KOPI. The imaginary café imports coffee beans from Indonesia known as Kopi Luwak. The word Kopi is Indonesian for coffee and Luwak is the local name of the Asian Palm Civet, the animal responsible for this very naturally produced coffee. A pound of Kopi Luwak can cost as much as $600, making it the most expensive coffee in the world. The branding elements borrow from Indonesian architecture, while the overarching aesthetic was “otherworld.” KOPI operates as a “pop-up” café, moving from city to city and distributing from unadvertised locations. In keeping with the secrecy of the brand, the logo doesn’t appear anywhere on the packaging. However other brand elements such as color, typeface and the holding shape of the logo are utilized. When these elements are introduced into public they would indicate to the informed consumer that KOPI is nearby, if only temporarily.</em></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Black Tea est une marque de thé fictive issue de l&#8217;univers underground pour laquelle Matthew Manos a créé un système d&#8217;emballage et d’identité qui emmène le thé hors de son cadre naturel et prévisible (floral, féminin, sophistiqué) et le présente avec les codes utilisés dans l’idéologie Punk et anarchiste. Tous les emballages sont fabriqués à partir de matières qui, avec un usage répété, vont se détériorer au fil du temps. Un projet intéressant qui pose une réflexion sur l’identité de marque et propose de sortir un produit son contexte original pour le placer dans un autre auquel il n’a jamais été associé. <p><strong><em>Description originale</em></strong></p>
<p><em><span>&laquo;&nbsp;Black Tea” is a fictitious tea brand for the anarchistic demographic. Matthew Manos created a packaging and brand identity system that takes tea out of its natural and expected setting (floral, feminine, prissy, sophisticated), and presents it with the design methods used within the Punk/Anarchist ideologies. All of the packaging is made from materials that (with repeated use) will deteriorate over time. The logo and printing on the packaging was hand carved from a linoleum block and stamped to create a consistently spontaneous presentation. This project is examining the fact that, with a powerful brand identity, a product can be completely removed from its original context and naturally placed into one it has never existed in before.</span></em></p>

<p><em>The objective: To create a new brand of wholesome, fresh, chilled soups for Germany, where there is currently no such commercial product in the market. The concept: The Yes Please brand name supported by ‘filling you with happiness’ and ‘good food for busy people’ straplines. The identity uses hand-drawn character illustrations, typography and emotive language to communicate the comforting appeal and ‘yumminess’ of the product. The market for the soups was German men and women over 30 who have busy lives, particularly working mothers.</em></p>
